Bodegas El Nido “Corteo” is the most collectible of the three — sought after for its Hermitage-like depth, its Rhône-tinged elegance, and its rarity.

With a minuscule production of just 500 bottles, the 2022 Corteo is a pure Syrah expression that marries the finesse of the Northern Rhône with the sumptuous depth and polish that has made Bodegas El Nido one of Spain’s most celebrated estates.
 

From the very first swirl, Corteo unfurls in dramatic layers: inky violet color, aromas of blackberry liqueur, ripe blueberry, and crushed violets, then deeper notes of black peppercorn, star anise, smoked mineral, and dark cocoa. On the palate, it is luxurious and silken, balancing dense blue- and black-fruited richness with sculpted tannins and a mineral backbone reminiscent of great Hermitage. The finish is long, resonant, and architectural — the kind that continues to evolve long after the last sip.

It has taken us years to secure Bodegas El Nido Corteo.  The last vintage we received was 2019 - and a mere 10 bottles.
 

Our allocation is minimal (though more than our 2019 ten-bottle allocation!).
