Saving The Best For Last
The 2019 Brunellos, from the stunning 2019 vintage, have been steadily snapped up by collectors over the past year.
One bottle that belongs in your collection is the 2019 Ridolfi Brunello - it dominates the $50–$75 category. Very little remains, and — frankly — we can’t believe there’s any left at all.
The Ridolfi farm dates back centuries. Today, winemaker Gianni Maccari carries the torch as one of the last disciples of Giulio Gambelli — widely considered one of the greatest Tuscan winemakers of all time.
A Brunello that is classically Old World. Not fleshy.
Not extracted. Instead, it is structured and composed—built on robust tannins and vivid sour-cherry fruit that provide the backbone for its long, graceful finish. Hints of finocchiona and dried strawberry with a slight peppery note and cocoa nuance. Delicious!
What We Love About This Wine
On day three, this wine opened to a beautiful array of dried spice, pepper, dried strawberry, and cherry. The tannins throughout the whole journey offered terrific grip without any fruit fall-off. Simply a cork and no fancy vacuums or air suction devices.
These are all great signs of a well-made wine.
Decant for 45 minutes if you plan to enjoy it now. And, be sure to set some aside for a few years down the road!
Extremely limited. While supplies last.
Enjoy!
