The Dei Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of the best-kept secrets in Tuscany.  The 2019 Dei, from a gorgeous Tuscan vintage, was #34 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2023.

Dei is a pure, old-school Sangiovese made the way Sangiovese should be made.

This red is not to be confused with a Montepulciano (the grape) from the Abruzzo region of Italy.  This Montepulciano (the region that grows Sangiovese) is a little Sangiovese treasure.

Dei is not as big as a Brunello, and not as acidic as a Chianti.  It checks all the boxes with its balanced fruit and elegant profile.
