The Dei Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of the best-kept secrets in Tuscany. The 2019 Dei, from a gorgeous Tuscan vintage, was #34 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2023.
Dei is a pure, old-school Sangiovese made the way Sangiovese should be made.
Not jammy. Not extracted.
No oak is used to mask any flaws.
Your pasta will never be the same.
And homemade pizza? Like a slice of heaven!
“An intense bouquet with aromas of ripe cherries, plums and violets. It represents the perfect combination of structure and elegance: its full body and velvety tannins are balanced by its fine acidity. The wine is decidedly persistent and harmonious.” Wine Spectator
Add freshly grated cheese to your pasta or pizza and enjoy.
This red is not to be confused with a Montepulciano (the grape) from the Abruzzo region of Italy. This Montepulciano (the region that grows Sangiovese) is a little Sangiovese treasure.
Dei is not as big as a Brunello, and not as acidic as a Chianti. It checks all the boxes with its balanced fruit and elegant profile.
"Please pass the pizza!!!"
