Vosne Romanee • A glimpse into greatness.

A Village Like No Other
There is a reason the village of Vosne-Romanee is home to some of the most exclusive Grand Cru vineyards in Burgundy: Echezeaux, Richebourg, La Tache, and Romanee Conti, to name a few.
These Grand Cru darlings are untouchable within the wine world. They fetch $2,000 up to - brace yourself - $20,000 per bottle. Collectors often buy and sell them at auction houses around the world.
However, there is still hope for mere mortals who want to experience a wine from this coveted village.
Without breaking the bank, you can get a glimpse of greatness in the 2017 Bertrand Machard de Gramont Vosne-Romanee.
This blissful Burgundy boasts polished rose petal, ripe cherry, black fruit, baking spice and perfectly balanced acidity. Velvety on the palate, we were captivated by this wine's approachability. Though not a Grand Cru, it has elements of Grand Cru greatness and reveals some of the best attributes of the village with its depth and silky fruit.
There is a tacit understanding in the wine world that something special comes from Vosne-Romanee. It is home to eight Grand Cru parcels, which encompass better than a third of the entire vineyard acreage in the Vosne-Romanee village.
No other village boasts that honor!
Like all good things, supply is limited.
Enjoy!
