Dino Ciacci, the founder of the Mocali estate, is a name every Tuscan wine drinker should know.  

He was one of the original 25 vignerons who founded the Corsozio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino (Brunello Consortium), which now boasts over 200 producers and helped put Tuscan wines on the world stage.

Being an early believer of Tuscany's potential, the Mocali estate first capitalized on Brunello and then headed an hour south of Montalcino to the sleepy region of Scansano, where Morellino (Sangiovese) is now considered Tuscany's best-kept secret. 

A perfectly balanced wine with fabulous acidity and fresh grippy fruit of blackcurrant, ripe red cherry, and wild herbs.  It has a long, classic Tuscan finish.  Juicy Sangiovese greets the full bodied fruit of the Malvasia Nera and Alicante creating a delightful treat!  A gorgeous blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Malvasia Nera, 5% Alicante. 

What We Love About Mocali Morellino di Scansano

First, 2019 is a record-setting Tuscan vintage and the gift that keeps on giving.  It is "the vintage we've all been waiting for."  Antonio Galloni 

Second, Mocali's Morellino di Scansano already has 5 years of bottle age and has beautifully integrated fruit and structure from a near perfect growing season.  

Third, the wine bursts out of the glass! 

Fourth, it is extremely drinkable today and can age for another five years.

Oh yeah, even their estate olive oil, Paniole, is outrageous, too!  Whether you prefer dipping warm bread or drizzled it on top of a fresh arugula salad, Paniole by Mocali is a delicacy.
