The 2023 Antinori, Bramito della Sala Chardonnay Umbria was a Merchant's Pick
White gold from Antinori's historic estate! • We love this wine!
December 05, 2024
Antinori is one of Tuscany's most celebrated estates. Their Super Tuscan, Tignanello, may have put them on the map, but their Chardonnays are their best-kept secret.
You may have tried their flagship Cervaro della Sala, which is mostly Chardonnay and priced at $90. Their 100% Bramito della Sala Chardonnay is an Umbrian delight and a steal at $25.
The Castello della Sala estate, located in the heart of Umbria with beautiful rolling hills, is the perfect place for growing white wine varieties.
Snappy and refreshing, Bramito Chardonnay showcases fresh peach, citrus, dried apricots, and roasted almonds. A bit lighter on its feet than Antinori's Cervaro della Sala Chardonnay, the appeal of Bramito is its mineral-driven profile of orchard fruits and fresh citrus. Always present, a welcome accent is the wine's hint of grapefruit and botanicals on the long, zesty finish.
What We Love About Bramito
The Antinori family has been producing wines in Italy since the 14th century and recently celebrated its 637th anniversary.
The estate's clay soil in Umbria is rich in fossil shells, which gives Cervaro its balance of weight and minerality. The fruit is graceful with a lift of green apple, roasted nut, and hints of lemon. It is known for its vibrancy.
From seafood to light pasta dishes, you cannot go wrong. Among our suggestions: roasted chicken, seafood, and mushroom ravioli tossed in a sage brown butter sauce. The list is endless!
An excellent "Weeknight Wine," it will not disappoint!
Enjoy!
Blanched almond, orchard fruit, and saline are wrapped in a mouthwatering finale.
