If you thought Antinori made exceptional Super Tuscan reds wait until you try their Vermentino.  This limited, under-the-radar white is a summertime sensation that got snatched up when we featured it last year. 

The Guado al Tasso estate is near the Maremma coast in Tuscany; proximity to the sea gives this Tuscan white its pronounced vibrancy and freshness.

Full of verve, this beauty threads the needle between the best attributes of a Chablis and Sancerre. Bolgheri’s microclimate is particularly favorable for Vermentino to thrive.  Citrus notes, minerals, and lemon-lime are reminiscent of Sancerre.  Fresh, well-balanced, and persistent, there is a stone, mineral finish found in Chablis.  White peach, floral accents, and fresh herbs add additional layers making it a unique white found only in Bolgheri.

A piece of fish or your favorite pasta tossed in garlic and olive oil is all you will need for this versatile white.  

A seasonal salad with a side of grilled bread (to dip in olive oil, of course) is another way to enjoy this Bolgheri beauty. 

After sipping and swirling a few times, you will look down and realize there's not a drop left!
