If You Could Only Have One Cabernet From 2021, An Off-The Charts Vintage
The 2021 Napa Valley vintage is off-the-charts good! It is being referred to as the "dream vintage" and one you want to own!
If you could only have one California Cabernet from this vintage, Leviathan would be it. It is "one of the best values out of California." Antonio Galloni
It is the personal project of Andy Erickson, Screaming Eagle's former winemaker.
Screaming Eagle, at $2,000 per bottle, maybe one of the most elusive and collectible domestic California Cabernets. Erickson knows this and has created Leviathan, a "Baby Eagle" and personal project for immediate enjoyment.
For years, we have been a fan of the plush fruit of Leviathan, which offers approachability in its youth without sacrificing balance, structure, or depth.
Leviathan is a hedonistic red. Rich black currant, dark cherry, crème brulee, cigar box, dried herbs, and dark cacao. A full-bodied orchestration of flavors collides on a long finish. Notes of currants, chocolate, spice box, and earthy, herbal notes all emerge seamlessly. Rich, ripe tannins follow you on the long, outrageous finish.
