The 2023 Composition Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley was a Merchant's Pick
Domestic DRC Rivals Burgundy
April 07, 2025
We knew it was only a matter of time before this domestic DRC took a considerable price increase.
For years, Bertrand de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti (aka, DRC) has been quietly producing "Composition," a domestic Pinot Noir made exclusively for Michelin Star restaurants. A small amount is reserved for retail.
- Pommard clones are sourced from Winter's Hill Vineyard adjacent to Domaine Serene;
- The breezy cool nights of Winter's Hill are akin to summers in Vosne-Romanee, Burgundy;
- Domaine de la Romanee-Conti (DRC) may very well be the most collectible and iconic wines of Burgundy (and even the wine world). Their Romanee-Conti, Romanee-Conti (the most iconic of the Grand Crus) fetches $15,000 per bottle (yes, bottle!).
