The 2018 Hacienda Monasterio, Ribera del Duero was a Merchant's Pick
2 Years And Counting • This Tasty Tempranillo Returns!
December 13, 2021
Every January in Spain, local wineries celebrate their harvest by taking clippings of old vines that fuel fire pits, which smoke meats and cheeses.
As you can probably imagine, the smells are incredible.
Why is this important?
Because, Hacienda Monasterio from Ribera del Duero captures all the intoxicating flavors and scents that fill the air in Spain in January.
We've waited two long years for this wine and it is well worth the wait!
A nose rich with dark red fruit, mint, and background of peppermint. The aromas are complex but in perfect harmony with the secondary notes of cassis, tobacco, black currant, roasted meat. With wonderful texture, the intense red-violet color is driven by the wine's fantastic blend of a blend of 80% Tinto Fino, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 2% Malbec selected from the 100 hectares of their organically certified vineyard in the west part of Ribera del Duero.
Now imagine a cheeseboard full of honey-soaked prosciutto, fig spread, smoked Jamon, and soft cheese.
Now imagine a glass of the most luscious Tempranillo you can remember.
That's the 2018 Hacienda!
Outstanding today; this tasty Tempranillo will reward you over the next ten years.
Enjoy!
