Before the Valpolicella Classico region expanded decades ago, only a few producers can claim to have been among the original Valpolicella Classico wineries.  The Speri family is such a family and has been producing world-class Amarone for seven generations. They are considered one of the finest.  Not even Dal Forno can claim to be a part of that original Classico area.  

In addition, Speri's "Sant'Urbano" Amarone is a single vineyard named by monks who farmed and selected only the finest plots for wine.

There is no other wine quite like Amarone! An outstanding alternative to California Cabernets, Amarone refers to the wine-making process of drying the grapes for a minimum of 6 months before pressing; this creates a powerful red wine full of gripping fruit and mouth-watering acidity. These are wines that make California's Cabernets jealous!  

You will never need to ask yourself, "Is this drinking yet"? It is fresh and lively straight out of the bottle, but over a decade or two, it will continue to evolve making any wine lover swoon.

Pair with roasted pork loin, sauteed duck breast, a seared tomahawk steak, mushroom risotto, or any fresh pasta dish!
